In distress
Energy arises,
Power from ourselves,
Freely available,
Released at need.
In delusion
We shy from distress,
And bolt from reality.
Tasting the tip of the power,
We feed our hunger for comfort
And squander our energy
In habitual reactions.
In wisdom
We learn
That there is no distress,
That there is no delusion,
And that all of our power
Keeps trying arising,
Invoked by the present,
To fill us exactly
Inside of each moment,
To help us prevail.
